Humanae Vitae and NFP: my testimony

Paulaudenece1977

In a recent interview with an Italian newspaper, Pope Francis was reported to express praise for Humanae Vitae, Pope Paul VI's encyclical on the regulation of birth in keeping with natural and Divine law. Pope Francis reportedly said that Pope Paul VI was "prophetic" and and that "had the courage to place himself against the majority, defending the moral discipline, exercising a culture brake, opposing present and future neo-Malthusianism." He indicated that the time had come to delve deeper into the encyclical and develop ... (Continue reading)

Catholic faith and morals: why I said “no” to World Vision

I was excited when I read the email. World Vision Canada wanted to know if I would be interested in reviewing a new book of family mealtime prayers. The boost to my ego was super-charged. "Wow! I’m definitely not saying that all manner of "saving the earth" is intrinsically evil or against the teachings of the ... (Continue reading)

Oh…bama

Oh...bama

Last night a well known—and well loved—celebrity retweeted the comment, "The two rape guys lost." I can accept that people have different political views. Even when the answer seems so obvious: I can accept that people do not see it. What I can't accept is the kind of ignorance and offensiveness that lets you say, "The two rape guys lost." This is where the discussion is? Calling republicans ... (Continue reading)
